Although it is sad to see the last days of summer fading away… It is comforting to know that nature envelops us with fabulous colors and fashion wraps us in the warmth of beautiful fabrics!

The best news of this season’s Fashion Forecast is that many of the elements are directly in line with the most flattering of fashion principals! Although trends are intended to refresh wardrobes from season to season, it is important to select the elements that work best with your personality, figure and lifestyle! Clothing should be fun, and most importantly, flattering!

When dressing for work, play, day or night, color is a key ingredient. The use of deep, saturated colors are a very simple, and effective way of creating a more slimming look as it creates a longer silhouette.

The guidelines for color this fall are Red Mahogany, Purple Magic, Bijou Blue, Frost Grey, Mineral Red, Golden Ochre, Apple Cinnamon, Pale Khaki and Simply Taupe. As an accent, purple is very prominent, and jewel tones are being used in accessories, knitwear and footwear! Brighten up darker outfits with accessory tops of your favorite colors!

The fabrics and lines of clothing are softer this season, focusing on femininity. Cinched waist hip length jackets, dresses, below the knee fitted skirts, soft blouses, touches of fur, layers of translucent and opaque fabrics. In footwear, over the knee pull on boots, rounded toe pumps, ankle boots, lace up boots!

Soft textured tweeds, cashmere, velvets, plaids, herringbones are the fabrics of choice for jackets, skirts, dresses…extend the pieces you have by selecting a jacket with a couple of Colors in it so that you can add extra pants and skirts to create multiple looks!
